Las Errantes – Poetic Practices of Errantry.

Las Errantes is a transdisciplinary collective of artists who engage with poetic and political forms of memory, care, migration and ecological entanglements. Their practice is porous and process-oriented, intertwining with landscapes, archives, and atmospheres.

Las Errantes was founded in 2024 during the final edition of the Performance Reihe Neu-Oerlikon. The performance festival, founded by Maricruz Peñaloza, in public space that shaped Zurich’s urban landscape for over 15 years.

The collective emerged from the curatorial and artistic collaboration of Kerstin Wittenberg, Elsbeth Carolin Iten, and Maricruz Peñaloza, who envisioned a platform for artistic research, performance, and relational practices.

Drawing inspiration from concepts such as relation and errantry (Edouard Glissant), as well as care practices, Las Errantes addresses political and ecological issues with sensitivity, radical tenderness and poetic depth. Their works often emerge in situ, resonating with places, memories, rock formations and geopolitical movements. They understand migration not only as a human fate, but also as a geological, atmospheric and more-than-human movement.

Las Errantes initiates performances, research processes, workshops, and transcultural collaborations that weave together the visible and the hidden, the bodily and the remembered, the political and the poetic.
